Vice President Nancy Glenn of Boise State University, U.S.A., Visits HU

On March 29th, 2024, a delegation led by Vice President Nancy Glenn of Boise State University, a U.S. participant in UPWARDS, a semiconductor human resource development project involving 11 U.S. and Japanese universities including Hiroshima University (HU), visited the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of HU and engaged in a meeting with Executive Vice President Shinji Kaneko. Prof. Akinobu Teramoto, Director of the Research Institute for Nanodevices (now, the Research Institute for Semiconductor Engineering), and Prof. Shin-Ichiro Kuroki were also in attendance.

During the meeting, participants from both universities reported on the status of their initiatives regarding UPWARDS and exchanged opinions on expanding student and researcher exchange between the two universities.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Research Institute for Nanodevices (now, the Research Institute for Semiconductor Engineering) to take a tour of the facilities and exchange their opinions.

This visit is expected to further expand the initiatives of UPWARDS and the academic exchange between the two universities.
