Development on High-Performance Lichium Nitride as Hydrogen Storage Materials

Professor Hironobu Fujii and Dr. Takayuki Ichikawa of the Natural Science Center for Basic Research and Development have succeeded in absorbing and desorbing a large amount of hydrogen (up to 6 wt%), which corresponds to almost three times higher capacity than conventional hydrogen storage alloys at temperatures lower than 200 degrees C.

The results of this research will be presented at a Gordon Research Conerfernce on 13 July 2003. For further information, please contact Professor Fujii, Head of the Natural Science Center for Basic Research and Development.
