On November 18th, 2011, HU established “the Hiroshima University Korea Center” on the Korea National University of Education campus, located in Cheongwon, North Chungcheong, South Korea in order to promote academic and student exchange with Korea.
At the opening, Executive and Vice President Yamane had a courtesy visit with the president of the Korea National University of Education Kwon Jae Sul. He expressed gratitude for the establishment of the Korea Center and exchanged opinions about its future activities and exchange programs. Then, he went to the Center’s new office at the Building of Applied Science, and together with the chief of the planning team, Professor Kim Jung Bog, he took part in the unveiling ceremony for the sign of the Korea Center.
Korea National University of Education is one of Korea’s leading teachers’ colleges, and we intend to add further dynamism to academic and researcher exchange within the field of education and teacher training.
We are also grateful to Professor Kim Beom-Ki, the President of the Hiroshima University Korea Alumni Association who contributed much to the establishment of the Korea Center and plans to hold orientation meetings for giving information on overseas study through cooperation with the Korea Alumni Association.
With the establishment of this center, we hope that both of our universities will benefit from even more active academic and student exchange.
