HUSA Students Participate in Hiroshima Bank Internship

Exchange students recieve an explaination of bank procedures

Two short-term exchange students from our university are receiving clerical training at Hiroshima Bank as part of an internship program from February 13 to February 21.

The internship between Hiroshima Bank and our university began at the Hiroshima University International Exchange Meeting held in early December when the Hiroshima Bank Representative Director, President Sho Takahashi, proposed the idea to President Muta and the other members of the meeting. Afterwards, after much debate, both parties decided upon the dates February 13 to February 21 and the plan was put into action.

Two students from the Hiroshima University Study Abroad Program (HUSA), one from China's Yanshan University and another from Korea's Kyongpook National University, will be taking part in the program, where they will be trained in reception, work in the financial bond department and other related departments, and learn about related facilities. On the last day of the program, they will write and hand in a report in the Human Resource Development department about their experiences.

In April of 2004, a comprehensive research cooperation agreement memorandum was signed between Hiroshima Bank and our university, and it is hoped that this international student internship continues to develop in the future and contributes to training talented students and to strengthening cooperation between the bank and our university.
