On April 11, 2017, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania, H.E. Egidijus Meilūnas visited the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of Hiroshima University and met with President Mitsuo Ochi.

During the meeting they discussed the future of academic exchange between HU and universities in the Republic of Lithuania, and H.E. Meilūnas expressed his hope that such inter-university interaction would be more active than ever after this visit to HU.

It is expected that further student and research exchanges will be actively promoted between HU and universities in the Republic of Lithuania in the near future.
