International Students in the ASEAN International Mobility for Students Program (AIMS-HU Program) experienced Japanese traditional tea ceremony

On Friday, June 23, 2017, the international students in the AIMS-HU Program experienced tea ceremony practice.

This event was held as a part of “Japanese Craft History” class in the AIMS-HU’s Japanese Culture and Language Program.

The participants made comments such as: “It was a wonderful experience. I used to have the images of ‘strict manners’ or ‘formal’ when I heard tea ceremony, but actually it was fun”, “In the ceremony, I was able to practice each process and make my own tea in the end. I also learned the concept of ‘wabi’ and ‘sabi’ and “My favorite word in the tea ceremony is ‘Ichigo-Ichie’ (Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity). I want to join in the ceremony again.”
