On August 28th, 2017, Dr. David Vandyke Gibson of University of Texas at Austin and Professor Akio Nishizawa of Toyo University visited the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of Hiroshima University and met with HU President Mitsuo Ochi.

At the meeting, a fruitful discussion was carried out on a wide range of topics covering entrepreneurship education, academic-industrial alliance, regional activation, human resource development and others.

Currently, the Graduate School for International Development and Cooperation of HU is conducting a Double-Degree Program with the University of Texas at Austin. It is expected that the academic exchange between both universities will continue to develop.
