The DP/DR program: Supporting cutting edge research

In 2013, Hiroshima University established the “Distinguished Professors” (DP) program for senior faculty, and the “Distinguished Researcher” (DR) program for junior faculty members. These prestigious programs recognize selected faculty members engaged in extraordinary research activities.

In order to encourage their continued success - and to push to the limits their potential - appointees have access to: supportive measures to help secure adequate time for research, support from university research administrators, and exemption from instructional, academic, and managerial duties as required.

After last year’s successful introduction to the Distinguished Professors, this year we are introducing to the world our Distinguished Researchers. Please take some time to read the interviews inked below, introducing them, their research, and their passions.
