Recruiting Disaster-relief Student Volunteers

“OPERATION TSUNAGARI” will arrange volunteer activities by providing bus services from Higashi-Hiroshima campus. Below is the specific recruitment method.

Application Deadline

As we need to finalize the number of volunteers quickly, the deadline is until twelve noon of 2 days prior to the date you request.
(Example) If your request date is July 13, the deadline will be 12:00 (noon), July 11.

Time: 7:30 a.m.
Place: Higashi-Hiroshima campus (tentative)

*The gathering place and time are subject to change because of the on-site situation. The detailed information will be notified via e-mail on the day before.

Belongings / Preparation

  • Long Sleeved T-Shirt and Long pants
  • Towels
  • Cap
  • Extra Clothes
  • Lunch Box
  • Drink for 1day (such as 2-liter bottle of water)
  • Plastic Bag (for bringing dirty clothes)
  • National Health Insurance Card
  • Rain Coat
  • Masks
  • High Boots (if you have)
  • 350 yen (in order to buy the volunteer insurance / only once)
    (Some of high Boots, gloves and shovels can be borrowed.)

Note

Depending on the on-site situation and the weather, the volunteer work may be cancelled. Please act on your own responsibility, and try not to be a burden on anyone in the disaster area. Also, please be considerate of disaster victims throughout your volunteer work.

Insurance

You can apply for volunteer insurance at the volunteer center on site.

About “OPERATION TSUNAGARI”

“OPERATION TSUNAGARI” was established with the 2011 great east Japan earthquake as momentum. They have continuously acted as disaster-relief volunteers in mainly Miyagi prefecture, Asakita and Asaminami districts in Hiroshima City.
