The Japan-Lithuania Joint Life Sciences Symposium was held at Research Council of Lithuania in Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania, on 25th September. President Ochi was one of the participants to the symposium from Japan.

The Symposium was held to promote academic exchanges among the experts in Life Sciences between Lithuania and Japan. The symposium saw an attendance of about 40 people from universities in Japan and Lithuania, including H.E. Ambassador Shiro Yamasaki, Embassy of Japan in Lithuania.

President Ochi gave a presentation entitled "Cartilage repair in the knee joint," which was followed by lively exchanges of questions and answers between the participants and President Ochi.
