On May 29th 2019, Mr. Attakarn Wongchanamas, Consul-General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Fukuoka, visited our Higashi-Hiroshima Campus and met with President Mitsuo Ochi and Executive Vice President Toshiyuki Sato (in charge of International/Peace/Fund). The meeting was also attended by two consuls, Mr. Somchai Angsanuntsukh and Ms. Pornpun Pupiangjai.

During the meeting, the participants talked about various topics such as student exchange through HU’s START Program (a short-term overseas program for first-year students) and Consul-General Wongchanamas’ study abroad experience in Japan. They also exchanged opinions on interaction between HU and universities in Thailand.

There are 26 students from Thailand studying in HU (as of May 1st 2019). It is expected that exchange between HU and universities in Thailand will continue to develop in terms of both research and student exchanges.
