Makoto MIYATANI, Executive Vice President (Education)
To HU Students
In response to the rapid increase in the number of people infected with novel coronavirus in Hiroshima Prefecture, the Governor of Hiroshima Prefecture issued the "Declaration of caution against spread of infection" on April 13. In addition, the Mayor of Higashi-Hiroshima also issued a message "10 requests to prevent the spread of infection" based on the characteristics of the city where there are many university students, international students, and foreign workers. Both in cases, it is required to refrain from going out not only on weekends but also on weekdays.
Hiroshima University currently allows students who do not have enough network environment at home to take online classes on campus. Facilities such as co-ops and libraries are also available to support learning activity. However, depending on the future situation, it may be impossible to maintain them. Students should be more aware of the spread of infection and act accordingly.
- Activities on campus should be the minimum activities required for learning and research.
- Be sure to wear a mask.
- Thoroughly wash your hands and disinfect your hands with antiseptic solution.
- Keep the distance between you and others at least 2 meters.
- Please refrain from speaking at close range or speaking out loud.
Your cooperation is essential to restore normal conditions as quickly as possible. Don't infect yourself, don't infect others. We strongly ask each person to keep this in mind and act accordingly.
