(2020.6.15) Exercise caution against heatstroke and novel coronavirus

The use of facemasks is required on all HU campuses. This measure is based on HU’s policies to reduce the spread of novel coronavirus and also follows the advice of the World Health Organization (WHO) on the use of facemasks: "Masks can be used for protection of healthy individuals or source control."

On the other hand, experts are raising concerns over the use of facemasks during the summer as it increases the risks of heatstroke. Considering this, the use of facemasks will continue to be mandatory on campus; however, you will be allowed to remove your mask only if you can keep a distance of at least 2m from others when outdoors.

Heatstroke can be avoided by maintaining regular physical activity and staying hydrated. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly ask for your cooperation to exercise caution against heatstroke while continuing to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
