Hiroshima University Study Abroad Program (HUSA) held the Open Seminar on “the Development of Multicultural Local Society” Practical Group Research

On April 7th international exchange students participating in the Hiroshima University Study Abroad Program (HUSA) reported their progress of their Practical Group Research on the “Development of Multicultural Local Society.” Following their presentation in December, this became the 2nd midterm presentation.

Forty students from 34 universities in nineteen countries of North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia delivered the progress of their projects in English in the seminar chaired by the associate professor Naomi Tsunematsu of International Center. HUSA Program international exchange students have been working on the group projects in collaboration with the local schools and local organizations since last October.

Following the previous seminars in November and December, the seminar was held by inviting the officials from local associations, local industry, city council, and the high school affiliated with Hiroshima University. Students received valuable and professional feedback on the important issues, the secret for the success of the project, and the strategy for improvements.

Currently, HUSA international students are fully utilizing their creativity and practical skills in various projects: development of the interactive method to introduce foreign cultures to children, introducing the celebration events of various countries, and English education method via music. It is expected that their learning outcome in the seminar will further help students to develop and complete the group project.
