The Japanese government recently announced that it will relax its border enforcement measures, beginning March 1, 2022. New foreign nationals will be allowed to enter Japan, and international students will be able to enter Japan under the guidance of their host university, with a shorter quarantine period.

Until now, we have been contacting you via email and other means when necessary, but going forward, international students enrolled at Hiroshima University can enter Japan.

At present, we are working hard to prepare the latest version of the Information Package, which contains all the relevant information on entering Japan. We will be contacting students who are eligible to enter Japan about the travel procedures as soon as we have made the necessary preparations, so please follow the instructions carefully upon receiving them. Furthermore, as border enforcement measures are updated on a daily basis, we advise that you proactively check this information on a regular basis.

For the past two years, HU has been working to create a system in which it can accept international students online. We have achieved this by constantly updating our Online Student Acceptance Information Package, and by developing a financial support scheme in cooperation with the local government. Moreover, as a Top Global University (Type A) focusing on internationalization, HU will continue to make various efforts to further international student exchange, to ensure that all international students have a fulfilling experience, and to allow those who are thinking of studying at HU in the future to do so with peace of mind.
