Hiroshima University held Japanese Language and Culture Special Program 2016 Summer Session for Taiwanese and Chinese students.

Students who were mostly from our partner universities in Taiwan and China participated in Japanese Language and Culture Special Program.

This program is developed for the overseas youngsters who have an interest in Japanese Language and culture, and aims to help them deepen their understanding of Japan and to encourage them to come back to study at Hiroshima University. The program has been held annually since 2010.

This summer, we accepted 11 students from Taiwan from July 5th to 20th, and 67 students from China from July 21st to August 5th.

The program participants took classes of Japanese Language, Japanese Culture & Society, and Peace Education, interacted with Hiroshima University students and got to know one another very well. Moreover, the students visited Hiroshima Castle and Miyajima, one of the world heritage sites and learned History of Hiroshima city. The program participants also visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and the Atomic Bomb Dome, where they had an invaluable experience to learn about peace.

Hiroshima University has been accepting many international students from Taiwan and China. We hope that many of the program participants will come back to study at Hiroshima University.
