On Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., the Hiroshima University Honorary Fellowship Award Ceremony was held for England's Leeds Metropolitan University here at Hiroshima University. The ceremony was held in recognition of the long-standing academic and student exchanges between Leeds Met and HU in conjunction with Vice-Chancellor Simon Lee's visit to Japan to give the keynote speech at an HU Characteristic Good Program (GP) International Symposium. Various executive managers and board members attended the first Honorary Fellowship Award Ceremony at HU. The ceremony itself had a genial atmosphere: speeches were given from President Asahara, Vice-Chancellor Lee, and Ms. Elspeth Jones, the Dean of the Leslie Silver International Faculty at Leeds Met, followed by a DVD introducing Leeds Met.
