Commemorative ceremony of the relocation of the School of Law

A ceremony to commemorate the relocation of Hiroshima University’s (HU) School of Law was held on April 16, 2023.

Mayor Kazumi Matsui of Hiroshima City, who was invited as a guest of honor, and Hiroshima High Court Chief of Justice Yukihiko Kasai were among the many guests in attendance.

Prior to the ceremony, a ribbon-cutting event was held at the entrance of the Higashi-Senda School Main Building L on the university's Higashi-Senda Campus.

Guest of honor, Hiroshima Mayor Matsui then said, “We would like to take this opportunity to further strengthen our relationship with Hiroshima University through collaborations of various initiatives, and contribute to the revitalization of the entire city, as well as the Hiroshima Metropolitan Area consisting of 27 surrounding cities.”

After the ceremony, President Ochi and Mayor Matsui gave tours of the facilities, including the Higashi-Senda Library, sports facilities, and the SENDA LAB.

The event concluded with a commemorative lecture titled "A New Base for Legal Training in the Future" by Honorary Professor Shoji Kawakami from the University of Tokyo and Tohoku University.
