Outline of the "Development of International Human Resources through the 4D Education Program"
Project Coordinator: Dean of the Graduate School of Engineering, Professor Yasuo Yamane
Project Headquarters: The Graduate School of Engineering
This program is an attempt in graduate education with the aim of crossing the boundaries of language, culture, and customs and merging the merits of Japan and countries abroad and cultivating international engineers with the ability to solve new issues that come with the age of globalization. To reach this goal, the internationalization of research advisors who will foster comprehensive problem-solving skills in students is considered essential. Thus, the "4D Education Program" was developed in order to internationalize these advisors.
The "D" in "4D" stands for "double" and core of the program focuses on the "4Ds" of "doubling" of advising professors, education locations, dispatching, and exchange channels. Through close cooperation with unique partner university abroad, and mutually sending students who will be supervised by the other university and professors at both institutions will carry out research advising. Through this system, we aim to accelerate HU graduate education and to contribute to the internationalization of Japan's higher education by setting a concrete advanced precedent of internationalization in graduate education.
