Volunteer activities for the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake

January 10, 2024

To all students, faculty, and staff members,

The Noto Peninsula earthquake has caused extensive damage in the Hokuriku region, and we understand that some of you are considering participating in volunteer activities to support the affected areas.

In Ishikawa Prefecture, roads heading toward Noto are congested due to serious earthquake damage. Trying to head to the affected areas individually in such a situation may cause delays in the arrival of relief supplies and difficulties in transporting patients in urgent need, which may greatly hinder rescue and relief efforts.

If students, faculty, and staff members of the University participate in volunteer activities, please check the local acceptance situation and make an appropriate decision regarding participation.

Below is a list of related websites for your reference when participating in volunteer activities.

SUZUKI Yumiko, Executive Vice President (Education and Peacebuilding)
HATTA Kazushi, Executive Director (Financial and General Affairs)
