The mental effects of the disaster

January 12, 2024

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff

We understand that the Noto Peninsula earthquake has taken a toll on those affected both mentally and physically. I am sure that you have experienced various stressful situations, such as sudden and unexpected circumstances, changes in your lives, and the loss or damage of people close to you. It is a natural reaction to suffer from anxiety, depression, and other physical and mental disorders.

However, if the anxiety or depression is strong or prolonged, or if you have trouble sleeping or are confused, please feel free to consult with us.

In addition, not only those who are directly affected but also those whose mental health may be affected indirectly by news reports and information about the disaster, such as strong anxiety, fear, or depression.

We at the Health Service Center would like to protect your mental and physical health. In addition to in-person visits, we also accept consultations by phone, e-mail, or online if you are far away.

Depending on the situation, we can also refer you to local medical institutions or consultation organizations.
