Regarding the accident at the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Station after the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Peace/International Office (International Center) of Hiroshima University held a public lecture for international students, researchers, and their families.
Four specialists held a lecture with the intention to provide them proper information in English about the earthquake occured on March 11th, the accident of the Nuclear Power Station, the structure of nuclear power plant, the level of radioactivity in Hiroshima, and the influence of radioactivity on health so that this information helps them to reduce their anxiety caused by rumors. The public lectures were held twice at Higashi-Hiroshima Campus (April 19th and 22nd ) and once at Kasumi-Campus (April 20th ). About 80 international students and researchers joined these lectures.
After the lectures, there was a “Radiation Q&A”-Corner. A lot of questions showed their high interests in this accident.
