18 trainees from conflict affected countries in Africa visited Tokyo and Hiroshima

Hiroshima University hosted trainees from 6 African countries as part of the Teacher Training and Development for Peace-Building in the Horn of Africa and Surrounding Countries project. The Japan Study Tour, co-organized by UNESCO-IICBA and the Center for the Study of International Cooperation in Education (CICE), Hiroshima University, was held 2 - 9 August 2017. Eighteen technical staff of Ministries of Education, teacher trainers, and secondary school teachers from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, and Uganda participated. In addition to lectures at Hiroshima University, they visited parliament members, former UNESCO DG Mr. Matsuura, MEXT, JICA, UNITAR, Sophia University and University of Tokyo and had the honor to attend the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony.
