Plaque Unveiling Ceremony

On July 10, 2015, the plaque unveiling ceremony was held at Capital Normal University in Beijing, China. Hiroshima University and Capital Normal University are establishing a Joint Graduate School Program. A plaque was created in Hiroshima University President Mitsuo Ochi’s handwriting.



From Hiroshima University, President Mitsuo Ochi, Exective and Vice President Toshiyuki Sato, Beijing Research Center President Nobuharu Sato, and from Capital Normal University, President Gong Huili and other related personnel attended the ceremony. Many other guests such as Minister Yasushi Yamamoto from the Japanese Embassy and members from the Hiroshima University-China Friendship Meeting attended the ceremony.



During the ceremony, President Ochi gave a greeting “By nurturing human resources that have the ability to play an active part between Japan, China, and the world, I hope both universities can work together to become even greater universities in the world”. President Gong Huili gave a greeting “Chinese government leaders also emphasize the importance of Joint Graduate School programs. We would like to send out many exchange students”.



For Capital Normal University students in this Joint Graduate School program that will study at Hiroshima University, there will be Japanese language and culture education support and double degree programs for master course students. For students that complete the double degree program, we plan to actively suggest doctor courses at Hiroshima University.



Through this program, we hope to nurture high-skilled human resources that have a sound knowledge of Japanese, Chinese, and English, and familiar with Japanese and Chinese culture and customs.
