Special Appointment Professor Masaki Taniguchi of the Hiroshima Synchrotron Radiation Center received the 72nd Chugoku Cultural Award (Mainly sponsored by Chugoku Shimbun.)

The Chugoku Cultural Award is presented to individuals or organizations with excellent achievements in the fields of Culture, Academics and regional contributions. They must have connections to the Chugoku region and seven people received the award this year.

Special Appointment Professor Taniguchi has strived to operate the Hiroshima Synchrotron Radiation Center. He also dedicated his efforts to introduce the university's unique proprietary educational system known as the Hiroshima University Program of Specified Education and Study (HiPROSPECTS(R)) to all the faculties.

The award ceremony was held on November 6th(FRI) at the Chugoku Shimbun Economics Club, Hiroshima city.
