Public Lecture: "Looking Back at 1,000 Years of the Tale of Genji"



It has been exactly 1,000 years since Japan's world-renowned literary masterpiece, "The Tale of Genji" became known to the world of literature. In celebration of this anniversary, there have been many commemorative events and publications on the occasion.



We have invited Director General Haruki Ii of the National Institute of Japanese Literature (HU Alumni) to look back at this historic year and discuss the meaning of "1,000 Years of the Tale of Genji."
