Hearing Devices and Cochlear Implant Center

The purpose of the Hearing Devices and Cochlear Implant Center is to have hearing device adjustment and training performed comprehensively by a medical team mainly consisting of doctors and speech pathologists, and to establish an appropriate supporting system as well as an education and training system (including speech training for children with congenital deafness) so that patients can obtain the best hearing possible.

We provide patients with hearing difficulties with various support including knowledge about hearing loss, appropriate support for wearing hearing devices, surgery for hearing loss, and genetic testing for hearing loss. We also conduct studies on artificial inner ears such as cochlear implants. Furthermore, we provide comprehensive support to children with hearing difficulties: determination of the timing of surgery, taking the development of each child into consideration, adjustment of the device after surgery, and speech training according to the hearing level and development level of each child.
