At Hiroshima University, we offer the following programs for those wanting to learn about Japanese language and Japanese culture, as well as for those who would like to pursue specialized research:

Undergraduate Program

Japanese and Chinese Languages and Literatures, Faculty of Letters

Program in Japanese Language and Culture Education, Cluster 3 (Language and Culture Education), Faculty of Education

The goal of the Program in Japanese Language and Culture Education is to cultivate high-quality Japanese language educators, and also to cultivate human resources who have the ability to be active in international society. Students learn about a variety of topics such as Japanese language, linguistics, intercultural exchange, Japanese culture, Japanese literature, psycholinguistics, and other topics which serve as the background for learning about the principles, methods, and contents of Japanese education. The Japanese Language Education Program in Morito Institute of Global Higher Education

The Hiroshima University Morito Institute of Global Higher Education holds many different Japanese Language Education Programs such as "Japanese Language and Japan (Japanese Language Class)" for international students at Hiroshima University, "Japanese Language Preparatory Education" for those international students who are planning to continue their education as full-time undergraduate/graduate students and are MEXT scholarship recipients, as well as a one-year "Japanese Studies Program" for MEXT scholarship recipients. The Hiroshima University Study Abroad Program (HUSA)

For students at universities abroad which have short-term exchange agreements with Hiroshima University, short-term study abroad at HU is possible through this program. For details, click here.

Morito Institute of Global Higher Education 3+1 Program

For the 4th grade and the 3rd grade students at universities abroad which have memorandum on 3+1 Program with Hiroshima University, study abroad at HU is possible through this program.  For details, click here.
