Biodesign is an innovation program for medical device development, on the basis of the design thinking that was launched at Stanford University in 2001. The program is characterized by its unique approach, which starts from unmet clinical needs in healthcare settings and incorporates a commercialization perspective from the early stages of development. Beyond providing solutions for medical device development, Biodesign also cultivates the ability to identify valuable insights for new product creation and to evaluate opportunities from a venture capital (VC) perspective.
Hiroshima University will launch the Hiroshima Biodesign Fellowship Program to deliver this educational framework. We warmly invite motivated participants to join the program.
